You were seen in the Emergency Department for concern for dehydration. You should observe your child for the following criteria:
-Capillary refill – squeeze your finger’s nail beds as shown
-Appearance – if your child appears lethargic
-Mucosal membranes – if your child’s mouth appears dry
-Tears – if your child stops making tears when crying.
-Appearance – if your child appears lethargic

If your child has two or more of the above criteria, your child needs to be evaluated by the primary care provider or in the Emergency Department.
